American corporate greed coming back to bite them on their bare arse! Too, too funny for words.

Oh, oh, gee I’m so sorry, I forgot to think globally – sheesh, when will I ever learn?

Its too bad that State Farm decided to have the teddy bears made out of the country, however, I’m even more tired of the ignorance of having to have everything so damn safe. For crying out loud, They been making Teddy Bears with button eyes and noses for ever. Of course if someone bites these off they could cause a choking hazard. So what. When I go home tonight and eat dinner, there is a chance I could not properly chew my food and choke on it. Life is full of risks. Stop looking for someone to sue…….I’m tired of it.

I too needed that smile!!! Finally, something to think about other than AIG and stupid bailouts.

Thank you, improperly made, cuddly teddy bear. And you too, Waldo, wherever you and Joe are hiding.

    Out…

I agree. Howver where the bears were made had much to do with the recall. Too many American-made products get recalled for plenty of these stupid reasons also.

Product recalls are not uncommon. The recall is to prevent possible injuries in the future. For myself, I try to avoid “Made in China” products whenever possible. Their past problems with lead based paints on childrens toys, unsafe pet foods, etc. lead me to choose other alternatives. People have a right to expect a fitness of product and if they are injured as a result of an unfit product, they’re entitled to seek compensation for injuries.

Any truth to the rumor that Sen. Grassely ordered up some of the returned teddys to give to all the AIG executives that got the bonuses?

Bob, I agree with trying to avoid chinese products. Good luck. A coworker and I were just discussing this and started randomly picking up items around the office and seeing were they were made. 9 out of 10 were from China. There aren’t a lot of “alternatives”. And as far as product recalls….I understand why they do them…to avoid law suits…plain and simple. My point is people shouldn’t be sueing because their kid chewed a button eye off a teddy bear and choked. Life involves some risks.

    Shield,

I agree with you except how well are the buttems secured to the toys? Is sounds like it wasn’t chewed off, it fell off? I think that it’s reasonable to expect this shouldn’t happen.

My nephew Hop Sing say Amricans gripe about everything. He offer healthy good lunch special for fourfitty. American restaurant charge $6.95. How you think he cheaper. No one hire to pick hairs and roaches out of plates at Hop Sing’s chinese restaurant. When customer gripe about roach and hair in food Hop Sing tell them, “you Americans worry to much about what in food”.

see, THIS is why my 18-month old daughter only plays with 100% American made organic teddy bears. They’re hand woven by 80-year old Navajo women and stuffed with all-natural hemp. My daughter likes to put hers next to the heat vent and mellow out…

LOL-thats right! I heard that Paula and her team spent over a $1MM for the ad agency who came up with the idea and then they cut out the agent sign program at the same time because they didn’t have the $$$. And don’t forget the poor schmuck they got to dress up in the costumes at the campaigns launch and cavort around the cafeteria!
Poor old Safeco. RIP to a once great company.
