This is typical Liberal Senate stalling tactics. No wonder their approval rate is so low. It is time to clean house.

The Federal Government should not be in the flood insurance business. If someone elects to live in a flood designated area, they should pay the acturial premium for that exposure. I am one of them, by the way!!

Who do you think designates the flood hazard regions?

HMMM – would it be the Feds??? That is a perfectly good function that the Fed can continue with or leave it up to the local communities to designate.

The Federal Governemnt belongs in no business. Flood is difficult to underwrite I’ll grant you, but then again so is hurricane and that’s mostly left to the private sector. Private flood insurance would be quite expensive and rightfully so. The fact that excess flood is so readily available shows that there is some appetite out there.
