I dare you to think of an online quoting engine in concept — how would you defend such a quoting system against a patent suit citing # 7,606,739 ? PARTICULARLY in light of this joke of a ruling.
I predict this company will soon go on a settlement bonanza and file suit against just about every legitimate business they can think of. These legitimate businesses will have little alternative but to agree to absurd settlement demands or face an enormously expensive court battle.
Notice where all of their litigation has been filed? In the Eastern District of Texas… of course, this is no coincidence. This has become in the past decade a haven for disgusting patent trolling.
And do not forget for one second that all the top secret trade deals currently being written (top secret if you are a voter or a member of Congress… lobbyists of course have full access!). All of these trade deals include as a core component the exportation of the US’ broken patent laws to the rest of the world.
