    Well, it seems to me that the player signs a contract with the understanding their career could be over on one play. They get signing bonuses and lucrative contracts and know the average career is over in less than 10 years. They were also taught from an early age to hit hard even if it was with the head. Had they been wearing leather helmets like the old days, they wouldn’t have been tackling with their heads and concussions wouldn’t even be discussed now.
