Texas Agent: My remark about the Emergency Room is that it was the only remedy for those who could not afford health care but it was also the most expensive health care. With the ACA, those who do not wish to purchase insurance out of spite can use the Emergency room as the last resort. The penalty they pay will pay for the emergency room in part.
