When I have my annual reviews with marketing reps of my carriers, they want me to give them the straight scoop, not tell them the politically correct things. We are honest about what the agent expects and we expect them to level with us about their plans for growth. If they are rocking along with no apparent plan or just telling us about taking more rate, chances are they will lose out to the ones who are more aggressive. The better companies are the ones who provide good claims service, have the technology and ease of doing business and understand they have to be competitive in the marketplace to compete with the captives and online outfits.
