I am having cognitive dissonance over this matter. While I do favor pro-business decisions, I detest State Farm with all my heart. They don’t play fair and they know it. We should be happy that Dickie Scruggs was brought down. As for the Rigsbys, they’re perfidious spies, not whistleblowers. If they were in bed with Scruggs, they are the alpha and omega of scum. “A pox on both your houses.”
Vox, State Farm has a long history in a lot of places. They got caught overcharging customers in Texas, the TDI ordered them to refund, they refused and fought it. A judge ordered them to refund, they refused. It went on for years before they finally paid up. Then, they applied for a rate increase. Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is there.
If you thought that was bad you should have lived in St. Bernard Parish in Louisiana when Katrina hit. State Farm actually contacted it’s clients and advised them they would be sending them a check for their full policy limits (building & contents) without sending an adjuster into the area. Checks were issued based on their zip code. I am aware of a 3 story complex. The 1st floor was for parking. Residents lived on the 2nd & 3rd floors. While the water did make it to the 2nd floor it was only an inch or so with no flooding on the 3rd floor at all. Many of the neighbors were unhappy since not everybody had State Farm which meant they didn’t weren’t getting anything and they had to fight with their homeowners carrier since the majority of the damage was from wind.
