I have a 2006 BMW 530xi wagon that was affected and paid nearly $2K to have it repaired. Who do I contact to inquire? Is this something direct through BMW or do I need to contact the firm managing the suit? Thanks
it says less than 10 years and 120K miles. But how about 2004 and less than 85K like mine.
Mine is 525i, 2004 with 82K miles, had same issue few days back.
The article involves BMW from 2004 to 2010, so mine should be in.
it said 10 years or less than 120K. How about 2004 but less than 120K?
Mine is 525i 2004 with only 82K, 2 days back got water damaged issue exactly same as described in the news.
What to do?
I have BMW x5, 2009, and my son BMW x5, 2007. Same problem with water damages issue. But no recall on BMW x5, and no lawsuit. So we taped sunroofs with a clear tape over. So far survive February- March-April.
Can’t believe this – just received notice in the mail. We spent over 6k in repairs for our 2008 530xi. The last straw was when our trunk was filled with water after a bad storm. Got rid of it at a considerable loss.
Looks like they are screwing anybody WITH AN OLDER MODEL who had the patience to fight, wait, and struggle with this problem…I will sue on my own to expand the coverage to all who were affecting…NOT JUST A DESIGN FLAW BUT A 20 YEAR COVERUP SINCE 1997 AT A MINIMUM.
STILL SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY IS my year 2000 528i purchased in 2003 certified pre-owned for $26k, still just 100k mi., took on water with first rain storm – had to take it off road for years fighting with BMW sending letters to multiple managers who have probably spent more time being briefed on how to cover up along with the scam of replacing door seals, claims OF no drain plugs existing in bottom of car (traps quarts of water in the frame), faulty windshield installations and denial of dealership requests to add clean drain tubes to standard maintenance.
HOW DO I HATE BMW? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS…
I own a 2006 BMW 650i convertible and water got into my trunk and damaged components and now my sos malfunctions and the radio doesn’t work and I know I’m not the only one with a 650i that has this issue. I have read many threads/blogs about the drain tubes getting clogged and causing these malfunctions. I would like to know why isn’t there a law suit for this or better yet how can I start one?

It said 10 years or newer in the article. Start with the dealer is my advice.
So, part of the “fix” is to put a sticker in your trunk, telling you not to spill liquids? Really? Have the people in this country become that dumb?
This just happened to our 7 series — $2k paid to BMW

What to do, whom should I contact?
This problem just cost me over $2000. I have a 2012 X5. Is there a separate lawsuit being filed for other models/years?
