Biohazard Cleanups Not Pretty-and Neither Are the Costs to Insurers

    Had a claim once. Raccoon got in to customer’s house through the dog flap. Dog and raccoon got in to a fight; both injured. They chased each other all through the house, spraying a band of blood along the walls about a foot above the floor. Both animals made it back outside through flap. Homeowners came home after work on Oct 31 to find this bloody mess! Yikes and true.

    Hey does anyone know how they bill them?
    do company use a computer for estimate
    maybe a software??

    After moving into a rental apartment in Michigan, once the seasonal weather led us to close the windows, we noticed an unmistakable odor coming from one of the rooms, and later discovered that the previous tenant had died in the apartment, and was not discovered for a week. This was not disclosed, and although new carpeting had been installed before we took possession, we would like to know what relevant bio-hazard remediation processes and subsequent inspections are required on the part of the lessor for compliance that would permit the lessor to lease the apartment. There do not appear to be any directly related topics on any of the state or county government sites. We would like to do some preliminary investigation of rights and responsibilities prior to engaging an attorney. What do you recommend?
