Yes, it’s sad, but that is largely the industry too. It’s an industry that has but kept up with the times, socially or technically. The technical skills of the people I work with are an embarrassment, and we are a top company working with the largest companies in the world. Based on this site personal lines and small business brokers are worse off than I thought, with a significant number of almost illiterate people and widespread innumeracy. But hey, they can post all day, so that makes them right.

The numbers actually, really, honestly don’t matter – because I was talking about a CONCEPT: namely that I find it rather odd that someone’s worrying about mass migration (ostensibly some large number, but totally speculative)eighty years into the future, but NOT worrying about mass migration actually happening today (again, some large number… but you’ve probably counted, and are continuing to count, right? In order to have FACTS, right?)
Mass migration is happening TODAY, as the result of things that are actually FACTUALLY happening TODAY, and about which we could actually, FACTUALLY do something to avert more pain and suffering in the world, and your response is the above???

Of course this is nothing new: a certain subset of conservatives has been saying it should have been avoided by allowing it to continue or just buying the slaves. The true problem was the leniency given to the southern states after the war and in later years.
