In Chico, California, Chipotle is filthy. Their tables, floors and restrooms are filthy. Handles of the doors are never cleaned. Chair legs have collected dirt around the bottom.
I have been to a Chipotle in Connecticut, 2 in Orange County and two in San Diego. Each one was clean and the food was delicious. I did not go in the ladies room in the California restaurants but my male friend with me at two California restaurants said they were clean. My sister went into to use the restrooms in Connecticut and she said that one was clean. I guess it just depends upon which restaurant you enter and the pride of the manager and staff. I don’t think Chipotle as a whole has a problem. I’v been in 5 star restaurants and hotels that have had dirty bathrooms
Alice, have you seen any articles on food borne bacteria with Chipotle’s making their customers sick? That is what you should be concerned with, not whether the bathroom is spotless.
It is truly incredible to see these same cases being opened, closed, and re-opened so many time over the case of norovirus. I am not quite sure that this chain has true legal expertise or advice on their operations.
Its very sad for me to read this article, because although i have personally never gotten the chance to eat at Chipotle i I am a big proponent of what they do. In terms of their dedication to providing food that is more natural and cruelty free. Between their reputation being dangerous for competition and the false allegations, I believe that they where meant to try and diminish he image of chipotle. Although I do believe a restaurant has a responsibility to its customers to follow the NSF guidelines for sanitation. I also do feel as if they are alot of the time being accused due to either paranoia or insider lies such as the disgruntled stock holder.
On August 25, 2017 I walked into the chipotle located inside the perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia. My family and I go to that shopping mall for almost 30 years. When I asked the server to add vegetable to my bowl, she totally ignored me! I asked again and she told me to get lost, and told me you always do that!!. I had no idea what or who she was talking about !? . As I was thinking that Maybe she had a bad day or mistaken me with someone else, but regardless I got upset and tried to see if this store has any manager, but all the staff beyond the counter were quiet and none of them will say anything( I guess they felt guilty knowing what their colleague did !) . I had a few words exchanged with that employee and I was expecting the manager to interfere and ask me, being a customer, what is going on ? as I was trying to pay at the cash register and leave, the person behind the cash registered claimed she is the manager and all sudden she told me “you know what we are Latinos and we do not give a s…t to you ! (The fact is I am a Non Hispanic minority myself .!) she took my bowl and spat in it and threw it in the garbage Can! After I complained to the headquarter in Colorado, they did Nothing! I am going to file a lawsuit against Chipotle corporation and if anyone or any other company wants to help, please contact me at 678-437-0460 so we can put an end to this Trash Can that calls itself “Chipotle Mexican Grill” !
The Chipotle case is a serious case to take to court, because it is a chain of fast food companies that in fact today is not so cheap, that should have all the necessary hygiene and adequate to work because it is touching food, meals are produced, which must be in good condition. I am in agreement with the plaintiffs, that many suffer the consequences until they get sick. The court can reach decisions about closing these places, so as not to continue causing injuries in the customers. I also believe that they can make inspect of health more followed of the premises, analyze the foods that are sold before the period of expiration. Chipotle is strictly responsible for these incidents and I believe that it should be the one who covers the damages caused in their clients.
I personally enjoyed Chipotle when I would eat there but considering that they’ve been served so many lawsuits over the last couple of years… I don’t understand why the chain is still up and running. I haven’t eaten there in awhile and it is unfortunate because I did enjoy their food, their prices, and overall their mission for natural and cruelty food.
Maybe too much organic. Maybe a little D-Con for the rats/mice and some bleach to clean up may be in order.
Jack, what is the over and under odds on this filthy chain staying in business for another year?
