National General may have indeed been an innocent benefactor of these actions. My experience has been that Wells Fargo and numerous other lienholders don’t put a priority in getting a customer’s proof of insurance with their own carrier into the loan file which in turn generates Wells Fargo to buy forced place coverage for the customer.

Actually, National General has been just as complicit as Wells Fargo. Don’t apologize for them.

Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe some customers complained to National general about duplicate coverage? I would bet my hard earned dollars and 30 years in this industry that at least one person complained.. I would also believe that if my agency wrote a whole lot of policies without customers knowledge and complaining left and right to the department of insurance I would be in serious trouble..
If they think their highly regulated then they need to see the agency side.. Company after company break the DOI regulations and they escape with their business and license.. The agency wouldn’t last over night.. This is discrimination at it’s best and probably merits a suit against any entity that turns a blind eye to it..

Nope, National General not only was aware, but was in bed with Wells Fargo the whole time. Went so far as to also cover vehicles for Wells even AFTER they ended the program- yes, no policy and having Wells Fargo reimburse them (Natgen) for the claim expenditures. 2 slimy org’s right here.
