Equifax had a massive data breach and the only thing they did to “help” customers was allow them to sign up for free identity theft monitoring … which you’d think is great, but if you signed up for it, you were forced into mandatory arbitration (public backlash changed their tune). Then, that sign-up system they were using was hacked too and was siphoning off people’s personal identification information AGAIN. Did they tell anyone right away about either of those breaches? Nope.

So Equifax had a massive data breach (PS – they already settled with the gov’t a while back for a different breach of data), they tried to strong-arm their customers to accept mandatory arbitration and had them sign up using a hacked system that was causing their customers personal information to be leaked again!

I get big government is bad, but this is EXACTLY the reason the Consumer Protection Bureau was created — to stop corporations from ripping off their clients, strong-arming them into unfair resolution methods and continuously showing a lack of care for sensitive personal information.

Can you explain why you think Equifax deserves a break from increased scrutiny, why people should just trust in them that they’ll do the right thing going forward (when they didn’t before) and why they should be allowed free reign to continue to conduct business in this manner with no oversight aside from their own internal controls (which clearly aren’t any good or else they wouldn’t have been in this situation to begin with)?

Because someone told him the CFPB is a bad thing?

My guess is, you won’t get a response.

I sincerely hope if Agent does believe the CFPB should just get out of Equifax’s way, he’d be able to express those arguments without anger/attitude/attacks and relate his beliefs within the context of what actually happened. If he can’t, so be it. I learned long ago not to hold my breath waiting for Agent to answer my on-topic requests to clarify what he posted.

Maybe he finally realizes that regulations and things like the CFPB and OSHA are put into place to protect people from the actions of massive corporations that would otherwise be left unchecked and start pulling shenanigans like Equifax, Wells Fargo, Intel, and other bad players who try to hide their mistakes while their executives take massive windfall payments and then try to quietly leave the company just as the $H!t begins to hit the fan…

Wait, this is Agent we are talking about?

            Nahhhhhhh

Because it was probably Russian hackers located “near” DT towers and we don’t investigate those communist hackers because DT and Mulvany want to do business when with them when he is out of the WH.

Mulvany is a creepy globalist business man and probably wants to do business with Russia when he and DT are out of the WT.
