Either they have no sense of humor, or they don’t understand science.

There are 2 genders: male and female. Period.
The two genders are different in many ways.

Come on IJ – you deleted my on-topic and relevant comment, yet left up Craig’s nonsense. Unreal. Let me try again.

Craig: sex is based off chromosomes while gender is how someone identifies.

There is already more than one sex: there’s XX, XY, XXX and even XX+XY.

Sex versus gender is a huge distinction to make (which is why the doctor asks you to put down your sex on the intake form and NOT your gender) since, as you touched on, there’s major biological differences.

Although you used the wrong term (gender vs. sex) there is clearly more than one sex from a biological//physician point of view

Anyone with half a brain would have known you would take the absurd position you just did.

What you just said is patently false. It is only in recent history that definition has become an item.

Also, here you are lecturing IJ for deleting comments, and I applaud you for it. You’re right. And they do it to both sides. They are far too involved in managing how we converse.

            Back on topic:

When someone says they identify as female, they are talking about the actual female, the biological female, and they are delusional as soon as they do so. Gender is absolutely linked to biological sex in that form, as the person wants to be a sex they cannot be.

When someone says it is normal to identify as a member of the opposite sex, and say proof of that is because it happens (everything which can occur sooner or later will, so it’s a poor way of looking at things. Some people talk to their ham radios. If enough people do it will we consider that just a way of life? It’s delusion. No less a delusion than wanting to be the other sex) you actually harm the person suffering from what is clearly a mental disorder. If you then say well their minds are wired their way, yes, many people’s minds, including psychopaths who are perceived to be born that way, are wired disordered. We are not perfect the way we are, and some people are born with disorders which affect them negatively as well, though you see them just saying accept me I love what I am, you don’t seem to see the depression rates, other than to blame someone else for them rather than the disorder. As acceptance of the behavior has been seen as not a disease and normal, depression rates have gone up. They have higher suicide rates and depression rates than Jews in WWII. This is not a bullying issue in that regard. It’s a mental health issue, and you are essentially making it impossible to help with that with your attitude. You are not Harry Potter slaying Voldemort. Get that delusion and social justice warrior out of your head.

In other words you see the person yelling about how the ham radio talks to them, saying “It’s just who I am! Why don’t you love me for who I am? Other people do it too!”

And you say, “yeah! Love everyone, I love everyone!” (Ego, narcissism, wanting to feel you are the hero)

And you don’t see the negative aspects of that ham radio disorder.

In labeling anyone who acknowledges that it’s a disorder, and gender is not chosen, as racist, or unloving, you basically stop any thought toward helping those with the disorder.

You are not the hero. The moment you start this type of attitude you become a block to their mental health, to finding a fix for the depression, to understanding the disorder. To helping with it. It’s really, really, sick.

Rosenblatt: Find me ONE scientist who says there are more than 2 genders.

Ridiculous. We went over this before. Please try to learn something new once in awhile.
The FIRST definition of “gender” in the dictionary is “sex”.

Yes, I can pretend to be a girl. But I am NOT a girl. And never will be one. No matter how many hormones I take and how many dresses I wear.

Do I care what someone else does if it hurts no one else? Nope. Be whatever you want.

But don’t insult me by saying there are more than 2 genders. Or that it is all on a “spectrum”. Please.

Yeah – we did go over this before, and you ignored everything I provided. Maybe you’ll actually take the time to look at the links (broken up so they’ll post quickly) this time??

I know you like reading ONLY the title and not the actual article, so I’ll post this one first even though it doesn’t give a quote from a doctor: http s://nomadicecologist.wordpress.com/2017/04/24/no-science-does-not-say-there-are-only-two-genders/

Here’s one w/ a quote: “The main problem with a strong dichotomy is that there are intermediate cases that push the limits and ask us to figure out exactly where the dividing line is between males and females,” biology sex expert Arthur Arnold at the University of California, Los Angeles.
    That’s from: http s://www.medicaldaily.com/challenging-gender-identity-biologists-say-gender-expands-across-spectrum-rather-323956

Or you could read this article which has quotes from a clinical geneticist, biologists and a handy-dandy easy-to-read chart: htt ps://www.nature.com/news/sex-redefined-1.16943

Or maybe you want a world-wide view of the situation? That’s cool … read this: ht tp://www.pbs.org/independentlens/content/two-spirits_map-html/

Now, you find me ONE scientist who says there are ONLY 2 genders. And none of this “you can google it yourself” non-reply. I found evidence to support my argument – now the burden of proof is on you to prove your side of the argument.

So why DO women have more texting accidents? Because society told them to? Ridiculous.

Or because they have different emotional needs than men? For the vast majority of human beings, there are only 2 genders, and people are not some kind of blend. And, yes, you can find oddities, such as the rare exception where a person was born with the genitalia of both sexes.

But then again, those would be extreme exceptions to what everyone knows is true: men and women are different in many ways that is directly related to their biology. Hormones. Thinking. In every culture in the world. Meaning it AIN’T a “social construct”. It’s real.

(Your “Nature” article you link to above said that maybe one in 100 people are “DSD”. Meaning: even they admit that for 99% of all people, they are either one or the other, male or female. The “spectrum” they cite isn’t a sharing of male and female traits in all humans; for almost everyone, they are either one or the other. Period.)

Or maybe you think that the distinction in the article is a false premise altogether, that the distinction is incorrect, and that many of the “women” in the study are actually dudes, and the “men” in the study are actually women.

Your own article from Nature admitted that DSD is rare. That same article ADMITTED that for 99% of humans, they are either male or female.

Do men have varying rates of testosterone? Yep. But compared to women, men almost always have A LOT more. And the same is true for women with a range of hormones, size, strength, and psychological traits – across ALL cultures. Meaning?

There are 2 genders (meaning 2 sexes), with rare – very rare – oddities that don’t fit.

Now answer MY question: what’s wrong with the article above about texting?

“Great!! We agree — there are more than two sexes. ”

Genetic abnormalities are not a new sex.

“Rare or common, strictly non-male and non-female do not make up 100% of the population”

Born with both private parts for example, is not a non male or non female, and any aspect that you then say is not strictly one or the other, is not a new sex. It’s an abnormality. There are not more than two sexes. There are no new sexes. A lioness that grows a mane and attracts males is not a new sex. It’s an abnormality. No third sex has evolved to procreate or be involved in procreation in parties of three. There are two sexes, and then some deformed sexes or abnormalities which often cannot reproduce.

“As for answering your question, when did I say or imply it was wrong? All i said was YOU were wrong that there are only two sexes and not even ONE scientist would say otherwise”

Abnormalities are not a new sex, anymore than chromosome abnormalities in humans are no longer human, like say autism. I looked at your sources, and what was really said was a lot of “we don’t understand, there are so many variables!” No one named a new sex, and then they want to social justice saying “gender is what society says it is”. No. It’s not, that is a recent change. Gender roles existed because there are two sexes with inherent differences. It didn’t go gender roles first, then humans. It went humans first, and trends came about, and people identified the trends. Society didn’t structure those trends. The sexes did, society documented the differences.

I cannot believe how much of a leftist you are despite you trying constantly to claim you’re not.

My satirical comments above, the ones you said were so outrageous, were actually spot on:

“Gender is fluid”. No, it is not. There is a high concentration of biological factors shared by half the population. They are called men. There is another set of biological factors shared by the other half. They are called women. While women may have slightly different percentages of hormones and other biological factors compared to other women, those same people we call women share wildly different biological factors as compared to people we call men. Gender is definitely NOT fluid, despite those rare, extreme deviations you cite.

“Differences between men and women are a social construct . . .” Laughable. There are fixed biological differences between men and women, which differences impact physiology, psychology and even manner of thinking. The proof is the common behavior of women in every culture known to man. (See texting . . .)

“Women can do anything men can do.” Hilarious. Let me know when women start playing defensive line in the NFL. (And explain all the news articles about “why women make better leaders, managers, CEOs . . .” if there aren’t differences between men and women.) And then tell me why more men than women crash cars, get in fights, end up in prison, study math and science . . .)

He embarrassed himself by saying gender isn’t fluid, women cannot do anything men do (and they can’t) and that differences between women and men aren’t a social construct?

I’ll tell you what. You take 100 men, and 100 women, have them both powerlift. Who is going to get further? You can’t change biology. Then have them all fight. Who is going to win?

This isn’t a matter of superiority that they can’t do all the same things men can, that’s not what I’m saying. They clearly can’t, and the fact that they can’t is not due to society.

I’m stronger than 99% of women, and at the rate I’m going it will be 100% of women. It’s specifically because I was born male, and with a good testosterone level.

For my weight and size I’m stronger than 99% of men too, and will soon compete with the top 15 in the IPF, it’s in my plans in the next 3 years anyway…But that is neither here nor there. What is that it is solely because I’m a man. Not society.

This is so true. Seems like most of the individuals I see texting while driving are young women under 50. May have more to do with them trying to multi-task as most family responsibilities after working hours are still being disproportionately done by women.

However, to be fair, I’ve seen many more men driving slowly in the left lanes while talking on the phone. It’s usually older males doing the slow driving. Probably because people under 30 text and don’t talk on the phone as much as they’ve done with past generations.

Just got back in the office. Just saw a gentlemen looks like he’s in his early 60’s driving his Acura into the Cleveland Clinic talking on his cell. I work right across the street from the Clinic and see it all the time.

There goes Agent hating on younger generations again. You cannot honestly say you’ve never seen an older man using a phone while driving. Unless you live in a town that is void of older men. Because, I see it all the time, too. People of all ages are guilty.

Quit sticking up for the younger generation. They are married to that cell 24/7. Sleep with it under their pillow. Can’t have a conversation with them without them checking their texts, emails, getting on Facebook. The older generation does not do that. By the way, the older generation’s driving record is a whole lot better as well.

I would say it is more likely women because they are used to multi-tasking and forget it doesn’t belong on the roads. In the last three years, both my husband and I have been hit on the highway by a distracted driver. Both were women and both were under 35. In both accidents, we were rear-ended by a driver that didn’t realize that at least 25 cars were stopped ahead of them and they were still driving full speed.

Did you mean “uninhibited?” Disinhibited is a verb and does not mean what you were trying to say.
