Global broker has appointed Brian Wanat as chief broking officer of U.S. Commercial Risk Solutions.
In his new role, Wanat will have direct management responsibility for Financial Services Group, National Property, National Casualty, Aviation, Crisis Management, Marine and Aon’s Global Risk Consulting Group.
He will work with Tom Fitzgerald, chief executive officer, Aon Broking, and the Aon Broking Executive Committee to ensure the U.S. broking strategy is aligned with global objectives. He will also be responsible for setting best practices for commercial broking across Aon’s field organization, and will work with Theresa Bourdon, National Industry Practice Leader, to execute broking strategy across industry practice groups.
Wanat joined Aon’s Financial Services Group in 2002, where he most recently served as chief executive officer. He brings 25 years of experience in insurance underwriting and broking to his new role, spending time at both AIG and CNA. He will continue to be based in New York and remain a member of the U.S. Commercial Risk & Health Executive Committee, reporting to Lori Goltermann, chief executive officer, U.S. Commercial Risk & Health.
