Insurance companies amaze me at their hypocrisy. Donegal’s auto and homeowner rates in Georgia are rates I saw two years ago. They can’t live with such low rates and then they will complain about their loss ratio. Our Safeco marketing rep was in my office a few weeks ago and I showed her the dec pages of an auto and homeowner policy with Donegal and she was shocked at how low their rates are. Of course Donegal won’t have to worry about not getting enough business in Georgia with their current rates.
Did Donegal buy a really nice small Georgia insurance company called Southern Heritage several years ago? This sale would have been more than fifteen years ago. Southern Heritage was a fine company

Don’t worry, Safeco will start purging and increasing rates in short order.
