This is inane. All it will do is expose passengers to being hostages. Terrorists will kill passengers until the crew opens all cockpit doors. Its also a cop out for Homeland Security whose main mission is to keep the terrorist bastards off the freakin ‘ planes!!!!!!
I would agree that we probably don’t need a second door but if terrorists wanted to kill passengers then that’s what they’ll do. Regardless of number of doors. Plus, I am sure the pilots aren’t going to unlock any door in order to negotiate with terrorists.
This is great… until a plane with 300+ people on board drops out of the sky because the pilot had a medical emergency while the copilot was in the restroom and no one can get into the cockpit (which is far more likely then terrorists)
OK, the solution is simple. Convert every seat into a 4 point restraint chair just like those used in a jail. The passenger sits down, and a restraint goes around each leg and each wrist. Only unlocks with a command from a crew member. That way, a passenger can still be released to go to the bathroom, or in the event of an emergency.
I was wondering if there was someone so stupid out there, that they would take this post seriously. Whoever put a thumb down should have looked at the post by LH Smith. SAD. SAD. SAD.

Oh, I thought there were going to be sail, solar, and windmill powered boats cruising to Hawaii. Bear culpa.

This is ridiculous. At what point is enough, enough?
