In northern MI the hay crop is badly damaged in many fields due to lingering ice in March. High winterkill of alfalfa.

Farmers in much of the Midwest are suffering the effects of too much rain, rain at the wrong times, not being able to plant and not being able to harvest. I feel for them.

      How about planting rice?

Maybe not rice but a handful of farms in MI are hemp, per a special permit.

      Perplexed,
Yeah, and on top of not being able to get into the fields, they are still sitting on last year’s beans and corn because of the trade war. I’ve never seen more outdoor grain piles tarped and not moving anywhere. It’s a sad state of affairs for today’s farming community. I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon. These people are hurting.
