I think the sales will increase with direct small business insurance sales, but I’m not sure how much. But it won’t happen in places where underwriting and other costs are extreme, like Florida. I have had many clients, prospects and friends go on to the small business online platforms and get nothing. You type a Miami or Pensacola or West Palm Beach address in there the best you can hope for is usually an ex-wind BOP or GL only. Now, in Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota et al I suspect that all smaller lines like middle market personal and commercial insurance will be sold online and direct via a company or large InsureTech style broker. But not in Boca Raton…no one can figure out how to make it work here for almost any line of coverage. In fact, after 20 years of trying with direct tech sollutions, no one is any closer to the solution today than they were at the “dawn of the internet”.

Why do you think that is in FL? I have lived here my whole life and been a 220 commercial agent for almost a decade. Is it because FL has so many variables with hurricanes, exclusively? Or is something else weighing in as well?
