Given the well-established trends of global warming and the impact it already is having on the insurance industry, insurers would be smart to look at their role in this, through their underwriting. Policies that enable construction of oil pipelines and coal mines are only locking us all in to more emissions the planet and the economy cannot afford. The insurance industry should seize the opportunity to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy.

I couldn’t agree more, Maria. And thankfully, we now have an administration who believes in science and wants to help tackle this climate crisis. America is back! I also think it’s telling and reassuring when we see carriers exiting the fossil fuel market.
