QBE North America Promotes Foley to President of Commercial Insurance

QBE North America has promoted Michael Foley to president, commercial insurance. Foley will be responsible for planning, directing, and executing the vision for lines of business, including middle market, commercial casualty, workers’ comp programs and commercial property programs.

Before joining QBE in April 2022, Foley served as the global chief underwriting officer for casualty and healthcare at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and in leadership roles at AIG, including chief operating officer for the programs division of Lexington Insurance. He started his insurance career in the middle market business at The Harford.

QBE is headquartered in Sydney, Australia, and the North American division is headquartered in New York, New York.

Gordon Browne joins AGCS as Global Head of Specialty

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announces that Gordon Browne has been appointed global head of specialty, reporting to Chief Underwriting Officer Shanil Williams who oversees all of AGCS’s nine lines of business in the AGCS SE Board of Management.

Browne will join AGCS in New York in April 2023 to lead the underwriting and further development of its well-established specialty business which are Aviation, Energy & Construction, Entertainment, and Marine.

Browne was most recently global head of energy & construction and head of North America Specialty for AIG. He has almost 20 years’ industry experience in the United States and United Kingdom.
