Perhaps this doctor should have his brain operated on for his gross misjudgment. This is about the most complicated surgery that is done and he didn’t know where he was supposed to operate??? Didn’t he use MRI’s to pinpoint the area? Remind me never to have surgery in the state of Arkansas.
I have heard of numerous cases of doctors leaving instruments in the patient when closing or taking out something they weren’t supposed to, but this one takes the cake. Apparently, everyone was asleep at the switch. They say that 50% of all doctors graduate in the lower 50% of their class. I wonder how this guy got his license to do brain surgery.
It’s not about the pockets, deep or otherwise, it’s about making the injured party whole. It’s not about protecting the tort-feasor, it’s about protecting the injured party.
This young 15 year old cannot be made whole again when part of his brain was removed in error. Rehab for years and he still may never regain full cognitive ability.
This doctor removed my brain tumor and saved my life. Just thought some of you may need some perspective. Doctors are human. Humans charged with extremely difficult decisions. I’m not excusing him for making a huge mistake, but mistakes happen. My heart goes out to the child and his family.
And now this guy is practicing at Cleveland Clinic in Ft Lauderdale, FL!!! My Chiropractor referred him, I’m printing this article and sending it to him.
I pray that this family gets compensated because I’m another victim that can testify that this doctor litterally almost killed me to and im still not well. It’s been almost 13 years since I trust this monster to operate on me and I pray he rots in hell.

Agree with you, Agent. The question then becomes – what about the surgical team? Did NO ONE realize it was the wrong side?

Anybody still want to cap damages?
If an attorney can sue the hospital, doctor, anesthesiologist, assistant surgeons etc, he is bound to find some deep pockets in that lineup.
