    Galveston should have a hurricane barrier – RI greatly benefitted from having one constructed in 1966 after hurricane Edna (1938) and hurricane Carol (1954) slammed into the state flooding Providence.

    Here’s a thought Texas. Pay for the wall your self by implementing an income tax or increasing other taxes. Stop looking to the federal government for hand outs. You want to brag about how low your taxes are, and then ask for help?

    If you argument is going to be that other states already get help, I agree with you. It should apply to all states.

    Texas A&M researchers concluded that seas levels may rise? Why? Could it be due to, *gasp*, global warming?

    Funny how people can get a little religion when it’s their lives and property at stake.

    And Ron makes an excellent point. This sort of project is best funded and administered at the state level.
