A federal that makes 40K yearly is a joke. I cannot recall one that isn’t approaching or already a millionaire; not counting the retirement fund for federal judges. If any of this turns out to be real,I would question why it was so little of a bribe…oh wait…perhaps the amount was insulting.
Defendants allegedly offered $40,000 to a Magisrate to rule in their favor in a dispute over $26.5 million in Hurricane Katrina insurance settlement fees … Why not? The outcome would nearly double most judges’ annual compensation and we all know the insurance companies are going to be blamed regardless — exclusions? Simply small road bumps to recovery …
Little known is the fact that judge Lackey was actually offered $50,000 by Zach Scruggs. Zach’s ethical dilema? Whether to tell his partners or pocket the extra $10,000.
Zach was denied a severance from his father. Oh well! Please read http://www.insurancecoverageblog.com for a lawyer’s great outline on this whole debacle. He does a great job explaining it all.

Maybe Trent Lott will divorce his Brother in-law Dickie also.
