All drugs you buy are FDA approved. Does this mean all drugs sold thus far have been safe? This proposed legislation is the epitome of naivete on the part of Sonny Perdue (if we give him the benefit of the doubt that it is an honest attempt to attract and protect business rather than a dishonest imbecilic furtherance of the Bush mentality that holds that individual protections are an unnecessary impedance to the welfare of big business and Insurance companies).
It is generally known that FDA approval generally involves: 1) no independent research by the FDA, 2) the blind acceptance by the FDA of the drug manufacturers conclusions about its own billion dollar profit drugs (as FDA itself acknowledges it does not have the manpower and resources to double check what the manufacturers are concluding about their own products), and 3) manufacturers having been often well-documented as suppressing the harmful truths their own researchers uncover and blacklisting those who try to report them.
The only purpose for which FDA is well-suited is to clean up problems AFTER problems have surfaced.
Since the manufacturers are the ones in control of the vital information about their products and since they provide FDA ONLY with what they want FDA to have, isn’t giving immunity to the drug companies for FDA approved drugs a lot like leaving the fox in charge of the chicken coup – a thought that should distress any victim of such an arrangement.
Aren’t we all tiring of being played by big business and insurance and their political henchmen who want to sacrifice and eliminate the dignity and protection of the individual in favor of increasing immunity and profit for business and insurance? FDA approval should mean something, but it should not mean that FDA approval has eliminated all danger to the public – justifying total immunity- since that is just not true.
Wake up America or legislation like this will cause ALL you rights to be owned by big business and big insurance and the politicians they either dupe or buy.
Shame on you Sonny Perdue for taking such short-sighted measures to attract and protect business while totally eliminating ALL accountability of business and insurers for their actions.
