it’s like there is something missing from this story… it did not state the he drove recklessly or irradictally while passing the logging truck… it was not due to alcohol… did they do an actual drug check at the time of the accident that showed he had taken drugs where he should not have been driving a vehicle? granted it was an accident… but some of this story is missing to make it clear… sounds like that we need to read as well as listen when it comes to prescribed drugs, but then when did he take the pill that possibly caused him to have the dui? um…
According to Currie, Deloach had traveled to Baxley before the accident to obtain a prescription for Fentanyl, a narcotic more powerful than morphine, and had a Fentanyl patch affixed to his shoulder while returning to Patterson on Highway 32.
Witnesses testified to seeing Deloach’s vehicle weaving in and out of his lane of travel. Blood tests showed Deloach had therapeutic levels of alprazolam and lorazepam, both anxiety medications, and toxic levels of Fentanyl and hydrocodone in his system.
