      I believe technically all Darwin awards are awarded posthumously.

        Not all of them. The receipient of a Darwin Award just has to be rendered incapable of reproducing.

        However, the rules of the Darwin Awards exclude minors (those under 18), and those that have already reproduced.

          There is a movie, “The Darwin Awards” (Netflix has it on streaming as well as DVD). I highly recommend it; it’s a hoot.

    The defendants should have filed a countersuit. This was an attempt at a total money grab by the family. This reminds me of McDonalds being sued for someone eating too many Big Macs and are now overweight.
