Get to the truths, Public Adjusters and water mitigation Companies in south Florida are tied together. The assignment of benefits is being forced upon the insured’s by the P/A or Mitigation Company. I know as I see this on all water claims, same water mitigation Co with the Public Adjuster. Also the abuse of the appraisal process by the Public Adjusters as they do not represent the true damages. They are all tied together with most umpires who have no clue of what damages are.
This is an unfair statement. I work for a water mitigation company for the last 8 years. The only time we would refer a public adjuster is if there was a real issue that we could not resolve with the carrier. I can probably count on one hand in the past eight years when a public adjuster was referred. Unfortunately we get grouped in with the mitigation companies that have unfavorable practices and because of this we get all the stall tactics from the carriers about payment and it takes sometime 60 plus days from completion before we receive payment. Upsetting the customers and blaming the mitigation companies for not sending in paper work. When we have a digital trail that says otherwise. This is just the Big Insurance companies taking advantage of customers and legitimate mitigation companies.
Bull, the reason for and only for a AOB Is to assure the two companies get paid . Its bad enough the insurance companies don’t want to cover liginament damages, they don’t want to pay out to the real companies doing the right thing. AOB’S won’t be necessary if the insurance company would make it easier for the homeowner and the company cleaning up or remediating by stop being greedy and making their customers wait to repair their property, and stop trying to squeeze out other companies so to just collecting their premiums instead of the real reason why people should have Insurance to begin with.
