I’m not a lawyer, but it seems that there has to be real damages to have a negligence suit. How are these students damaged? Because their AFAM degree was what, Too easy to get? That they now cannot get jobs in the AFAM business world, because they knowingly took classes that they registered for and could not tell they were “Too” easy? I am a UNC alum with a BSBA degree in 1976. I was in classes and work on projects with a number of Black Business major students. And, they all knew the AFAM dept was a joke then. They used the classes to pump their GPA, though it wouldn’t help their grades with regard to the School of Business. So, where were these poor souls damaged? They have a degree from a world class University, is that damage? Did they lose a job at a AMFAM Think Tank? Or not get picked for some Teaching job because of the easy courses? This is more of a sham than those few classes! If they aren’t intelligent enough to know what types of classes they are in, they probably couldn’t have gotten the degree otherwise. I don’t see the damages.
