This case will be interesting to follow. Sad for there to be so much bad behavior before a carrier can pursue these types of damages.

The act of filing a claim is simple and straightforward, or at least it was until lawyers realized the general ignorance of policyholders and ginned the process to take advantage of them.

Looking forward to Citizens and other carriers calling out roofing companies next.

“Maybe” the insurance company owed money in some cases, I doubt they owed the exorbitant amounts they were sued for and paid out. Greed.!

Are you not aware that Citizens is a legislatively created NOT-FOR-PROFIT insurance company? https://www.citizensfla.com/who-we-are

And that the 2019 AOB reforms that the Florida Legislature passed resulted in Citizens reportedly REDUCING premium rates to its policyholders? https://www.citizensfla.com/aob

And that there have many times since 2003 that Citizens reportedly HAS lowered its rates? https://www.citizensfla.com/documents/20702/93064/20200331+Business+Overview.pdf/5bdc778e-a9bf-5701-1a00-921fe7948dfb?t=1592228259533#page=62

Was Scot Strems one of the “bad lawyers” you “First Party lawyers” turned in? I would think he stuck out like the proverbial sore thumb among competing Florida policyholder attorneys like you. If true, it’s encouraging to hear Florida policyholder attorneys police their own.

This is old news and the court system has allowed this to continue for years and years. Every year more unethical lawyers from the Miami-Dade area join the parade and, march through neighborhoods collecting clients and making themselves rich on the backs of all Florida Residents. It took a Tampa Judge to do something about it. Without the blessing of that Judge, Miami-Dade Judges would allow this to continue for another century. If you ask me, every judge in that section of the state should be looked at, for what their benefit is and why, they allow Sham suits to continue, from all the Plaintiffs! It is almost never, that they present real damages, that they didn’t create. If it is a real loss, it is almost never that they request only the amount to correct the damage. It’s 10 times that amount and in some cases, much more than that!
