Washington’s Minimum Wage to Increase to $7.93 an Hour

    Socialism is alive and well in the great state of Washington.

    My understanding of the issue from the article is that the VOTERS passed a law requiring the establishment of a living wage. That is the very essence of a democracy, where the people have a right to voice and vote on rules that effect them.

    From an economic viewpoint, socialism means working for a state controlled or sponsored entity. Citizens of Washington can work for any employer, public or private, including Microsoft. Since it only increases the wages of the lowest earners, most of this money will be spent on items like rent, gas, food and dont forget taxes. 7.65% for FICA, plus any local and state taxes it may be subject to. If that isnt capitalism, I dont know what is.

    The system works for me, and we should strive to make sure it works for everyone. All ships rise in a rising tide.
