THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE! THEY ARE OFFERING LOW COST AUTO INSURANCE TO ELIGIBLE GOOD DRIVERS FOR UNDER $400? WE ARE SELLING IT REGULARLY FOR UNDER $300! AND WITHOUT GOVT BUREAUCRACY INVOLVED. I WONDER HOW MUCH THIS COSTS THE TAXPAYERS? PEOPLE ARN’T BUYING INSURANCE, BE IT AUTO OR HEALTH, BECAUSE THEY CAN’T AFFORD IT. THEY ARN’T BUYING IT BECAUSE THEIR MONEY IS USED TO BUY DRUGS, ALCOHOL, CD’S, MOVIES, FANCY CARS & CLOTHES, MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS, ETC. THIS APPLYS TO OVER 50% OF THE UNINSURED. WE DON’T HEAR ABOUT THIS, DO WE?

“32803 policies” I wonder who purchased LCI. Most of people who call for this program are who already have insurance and looking for lower premium. Most of uninsured motorist have no concern or intention to purchase insurance anyway. They just don’t want to spend money. This program was created only to send John Garamendi to you know where. It’s all about politic that doesn’t solve the real problem.

Joe, you’re headed in the right direction to say that particular class of people does not want to spend money. The real problem is they don’t want to spend any money on what is to them an intangible product.

The fact is they never will buy insurance at any cost, no matter how low the price. LCA is a failed program costing right-minded Californians dearly, and it should be shut down.

How about the fact that the “low cost” plan only provides 10/20/5 limits while the rest of the population has to carry 15/30/5 which is still a joke if you have a serious accident. The minimum financial responsibililty limits should be more realistic.
