While I feel sorry for the two plaintiffs, or anyone else who is legitimately injured in the line of work, I am heartened by these decisions.

Imagine a manufacturer being sued for someone else converting or manipulating their product and being held liable for the ensuing work. Makes one wonder if the lawyers named the employers in the lawsuits. Or did they hope for a defendant or two who wasn’t willing to incur the expense of a rational defense, but who would instead settle for a fraction of the demands, just to make them go away.

Hooray for rational panels. Can Washington export this valuable product to other jurisdictions? Imagine the possibilities.
