If a candidate actually knows anything about Insurance they will be considered an industry insider and wont get elected. The current breed of politician Insurance Commissioners could care less about insurance, they just want an elected position where they can tout themselves as a consumer advocate.
Like the insurance commish candidate I saw speak at an agents’ luncheon like 2 elections ago who stated that UM was a mandatory coverage and spoke of how he told an uninsured driver that hit him to leave the scene of the accident ’cause he didn’t want him to get in trouble.
Well, it looks like Villines has the party machine behind him. Hmmm….wonder if he knows anything ABOUT insurance.
I view him as the lesser of evils as I’m certain none of the others know anything about insurance either.
