The Governor of Oregon has control over world climate change? Is he aware of it?

More of the same: out of control lawsuits clogging up the courts, wasting taxpayer dollars, consuming untold precious time of all parties involved, and the lawyers are laughing all the way to the bank. Tort Reform, People. Hammer your Federal representatives until they do something about the gross abuse of our legal system by the greedy plaintiff attorneys!!

Come on guys, why are you talking about “tort reform” and “greedy plaintiff’s attorneys”?

This isn’t a tort case and the attorneys representing these girls are not plaintiff’s lawyers. Just do a little research and you’ll see that the Crag Law Center is representing these girls. This is a public interest law firm. They are not making money off this case.

There are already laws on the books in every state that address frivolous lawsuits. If this was a frivolous case, the judge would have tossed it and sanctioned the attorneys that filed it.

And now you want your “Federal representatives” to do something about it? So….you want them to pass regulations? I thought you guys hated regulations? I thought you want things to be left to the states?

How is this case a waste of taxpayer dollars? We pay the judges and all the court personnnel the same salary regardless of whether they handle 10 cases or 1000 cases.

“They are not making money off this case.”
BS… This law firm will definitely be seeking legal fees (huge legal fees) if they can get a judgement against the state. They’ll take their tax payer cash right off the top. This case does in fact waste tax money because the same court personnel would be hearing legitimate cases instead of this case. Do you really think that the court system requires the same amount of personnel and resources to handle 10 cases as it does 1000. That’s pretty stupid. If you agree with the stupid case just say so. Don’t invent stupid rationalizations.

The governor (my governor, actually) and everyone else on this planet is responsible what happens on and to the earth. Whether you “believe in” climate change or not, humans do plenty of damage and destruction to their one and only home. The little girls who are bringing this suit have a lot at stake – their future!
It makes me sad that the children clearly see the problems and have concerns. Yet the big boys and girls who nay-say environmental issues can’t see any farther than the tips of their hairy, wrinkled noses.
    WAKE UP people!

Fuel Cell Technology. The article tries damn hard with liberal bias to say that Hydrogen is not a viable natural resource to be used in cars. Bush funded it. Alternative energy man Obama…Defunded it. Note the no environmental waste factor. 2003 action. Look up the bill as well if you would like.

          http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/energy/next-generation/4199381

Rather than spouting off whatever the media says about conservatives, why not actually quote me some bills they have passed? Quote some bills they have blocked. They have alternative energy bills in the congress right now. I don’t need more conceptual argument from you. I’ve realized in the past I made the assumption that you could actually research bills with their bill numbers (usually starting in H). Quote me one bill republicans blocked, or passed, regarding environmental regulation please. Then explain after reading the bill in real world terms how it would affect the climate. Don’t read someone else’s interpretation of the bill. I want to see the wording of the bill.

I am tired of your unresearched comments making broad statements about republicans without a single bill to back it up.

Enviro-wacko groups? I say those opposed to strict environmental regulations are the real wackos. Who would want to go back to the smog and water pollution that exissted before we had the EPA, the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act? Everytime the Republican candidates open their pie-holes, they are talking about rolling back the regulations that have allowed us to breath and drink clean water. Maybe you don’t remember what this country was like in the 1960’s and before. Maybe this will remind you:

There is regulation…and then there is overreach. EPA in many cases uses extreme overreach…

Sure they do, that’s what Rush says. This is an empty talking point without concrete examples. I would love to hear an actual example of “extreme overreach.” Unfortunately for us all, every one of the Republican candidates do not want to end extreme overreach…they want to end the regulations, period.

I’m all for stopping extreme overreaches, but there is no way to debate whether something is an extreme overreach if the only compliant you hear is a bumper sticker/soundbite like “we’re being regulated to death” and “EPA in many cases uses extreme overreach.”

Let’s debate the issue logically. Give us an example. If you are correct, I’ll be the first to admit it.

Another broad brush statement. Republicans do not want to do away with all regulations. Just all the new ones Obama put in place. If they did, see my post above about the cafe standards put in place, would Bush have done that? see S. 1508: Federal Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2003, an act to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Research the YouTube video about the debate floor. Republicans were calculative, regulatory, and quoted numbers, democrats were talking about concepts, housing the poor. You tube the floor speeches, review the act. That’s only one financial act and that’s all I have to show to prove you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I remember as a kid in the mid 60’s and asthmatic at the time, having burning eyes and lungs on the playground at recess, air that looked like a light fog from smog, and seeing the San Gabriel mountains was a rare treat even though they are less than 25 miles away.I don’t miss those days.

Yes – Enviro-wacko group. One would have to be completely senseless to think that suing a state governor in a county circuit court is the right venue. This action is no more than grandstanding – look how many comments have been posted in response to their ridiculous, frivolous action. All they want is attention for fundraising, just like the wackos at PETA. Why don’t they try to bring their action to the world court since this is a global issue. Why don’t they sue all members of the Kyoto Treaty.

Indeed, I see how many comments have been posted, the vast majority of them completely uninformed about how our legal system works, including your comment about the improper venue. Tell us which venue is proper, and then tell us if what you really meant was not “venue” but “forum.” Then tell us which “forum” is proper if not the court where the suit was filed. And then tell us why the judge didn’t dismiss the case on the basis of improper forum.

Let me ask you, why do you hate the American way of life? Why do you hate American values? Since when does petitioning your government and bringing grievances to a public forum constitute frivolousness?

I swear, people should be required to take a civics lesson, not just in high school, but every few years after. We have so many uninformed citizens, it’s no wonder this country is so screwed up.

Civics lessons may not help. It’s obvious many people are learning-challenged when it comes to our environment.

Another option might be to send these folks to a third world country for a while to experience what it’s like first hand to drink water that isn’t clear and/or breath dirty polluted air.

People in the US are SO very fortunate. But remember, we are not “the world” and the majority of our fellow humans don’t have it so good. Get your heads out of the sand-or whatever personal orifice you seem so fond of…

Hate the American way of life? Don’t even go there, jackwad. Eight years USAF proudly served, including a turn in Kuwait, retired reserve.

If you think this country is screwed up, AS YOU STATED IN YOUR LAST SENTENCE, it is because you lib-tards have taken us down to the lowest common denominator and continue to try to destroy the last remnants of self-responsibility and turn your lives over to governmental auto-pilot.

The enviro-fundamentalists in this case are sueing the US Fed Govt. and/or the state of Oregon over “climate change”. How is that going to #1 ameliorate so-called polluted air or water, #2 solve the problems of poverty and pollution in the 3rd world, which the EPA has no jurisdiction over? Actually if the climate kooks get their way we in the USA will be living like the 3rd world because we’ll have insufficient energy, industry, and wealth to maintain our American standard of living.

Let’s have a court case. It will be an opportunity for global warmists to prove that global warming exists (in front of a judge). When they are exposed for being fraudsters then the house of cards will collapse.
Lord Monkton is already preparing a fraud case against the University of East Anglia and others. And looking at the definition of fraud in the UK – well he has them by the you know whats!
