Perhaps the prosecution wanted to drag this out for as long as it could so that she could suffer longer? She gave up her right to a fast trial when she decided to have her boyfriend killed.
Isn’t the right to vote in the constitution? And people in jail aren’t allowed to vote. At least that’s my weak understanding of it. Please let me know if I have it wrong.
Okay–if you’re a convicted *felon* you lose the right to own a gun, and to vote. (see Lewis v. United States)
If you’re arrested for a felony (murder, arson, etc.) you are still *innocent* until *proven* guilty. The 6th Amendment provides you the right to a speedy trial. You know, before you’re actually convicted…
