What a nightmare for the patients. I can not imagine being in a ER and being treated by this poor excuse for a doctor.

I’m not sure about this. Is the Doc for or against Obamacare?

She sounds greedy, thus is a Republican, so she is definitely against Obamacare.

Just to clarify a few things that people do not know. Most hospitals have a contract with insurance companies that the insurance company will pay a % of what is billed to the company. The government was the instigator of this practice when it found that the Medicare system would go bankrupt and it was hoping to delay that eventual process. This was done in response to hospitals not financially taking care to keep costs down also.

So this doctor, instead of accepting the contracted pay, is asking for full payment of services. There is not a great to compare it to because most services are elective in other industries but in the ED they are usually required however you might compare it to buying something but instead of paying full price you only pay 50 cents for every dollar charged. In most industries that would be considered theft but it is a way of business in hospitals.

Obamacare does not really address this issue, doctor going after full costs of care, directly. It does reduce those Medicare payments further. This means that Hospitals will charge the uninsured even more to recoup this because the uninsured will have to pay the full amount. Obamacare is about cost control through force, setting hospitals to not be able to charge full price for costs of care. However it should, because everyone is covered, increase demand. Interesting economics 101 if demand is increased, supply is held constant or diminished cost goes up however the math genius behind all the health care systems say that health care will buck economic trends and drive cost down.

You can go and read the entire new healthcare law and I would encourage you to do so. This way you have a strong and intelligent say in these next elections.
