I agree errant golf balls are a fact of life when on a course. The information given here though is questionable. The claimant was at the side of the green and a volunteer told the guy to go ahead and hit. Clearly the player recognized there was some danger. Depending on how close the spectator was to the green, the shot may not have been really errant. I would think it would prudent to allow the green and green side to clear before shooting at the people. Then again I only dream about hitting a tee shot 320 yards. I would mostly endanger those 150 yards and to the left!!!
