By all means, let’s not provide water to the farmer’s who need it to grow crops so they can provide the food America needs. This happened some years ago and it about killed agriculture when they were protecting their little Smelt fish.
We can put a man on the “moon” but we cannot figure out how to take salt out of water.
What’s also interesting is ground water doesn’t evaporate, but let’s save the water in above ground reservoirs that do. I wonder how many gallons they are losing to evaporation vs giving it to the people and let them save their ground water.
I’ve seen some smaller reservoirs with a layer of plastic balls, larger than beach balls that float on the water to keep down evaporation. I can’t say I know what happens when it gets windy.
