Here we go again, the State of California messing with religion, which everyone knows the left would like to eliminate if they could.

How do you define “abuse”? “Suspected”?

Why not make this law apply to everyone. Neighbors, friends, relatives. Anyone who might “suspect” abuse by someone somewhere somehow. (Communist East Germany must be looking on with admiration.)

More money for more lawyers and the left gets to bash a favorite target.

Whew! At least I will still be able to confess to mass murdering with my Priest and he won’t have to report that.
What ever happened to separation of Church and State? Seems to apply only one way.

Who does the Cardinal confess to who was caught molesting two 13 year old boys? Catholic church is losing members left and right.

It would never hold up in court, and any priest would be happy to go to jail over this. It is a big part of the Catholic faith that anything said during the sacrament of reconciliation (we don’t call it confession anymore) can not be revealed. A priest is damning themselves to hell if they violate that… Even if California passes a law.
