    Wait, what? From the article:

“The patients have long complained that they have a hard time finding medical-grade cannabis, which must go through additional testing for pesticides and heavy metals, in retail stores, and Garza said the proposal could help the patients while giving the growers an incentive to offer more medically compliant product.”

So, recreational marijuana can contain pesticides and heavy metals. Yummy!

Oh, if you think that’s bad, wait til you find out what’s in your milk, your hot dog, your pharmaceuticals, YOUR DRINKING WATER…and most of that is acceptable up to certain limits. At least for weed, those things are not supposed to be there. And Craig, heavy metals are not things that weigh over 100 pounds, ok?

HA HA HA! A Heavy Metal joke from Mr. Metalica!

Newsflash Smart Guy: California reported a widespread problem with pesticides in illegally grown pot, which makes up over 80% of the pot in California. Guess what? Illegal pot growers don’t care about their customers, they just want all the seeds to grow into money.

And why do you think the State of Washington requires medical pot to be so clean but they don’t care about recreational pot, MegaDeath? Riddle me that one.

And the NY Times reported that over 80% of the pot grown in California was grown illegally. You can easily look it up if you want. “NY Times, Illegal Pot in California”.

            Have at it.

Your summary of that article is misleading at best, intentionally misrepresented at worst.

First, nowhere in your link does it indicate that “80% of the pot grown in California was grown illegally.” But whatever. Let’s give that one to you and move on.

Do you know WHY they found pesticides in California marijuana?

You claim it’s because the pot growers don’t care about their customers, but the article explained the REAL reason:

“…California has no laws or regulations banning use of pesticides on marijuana crops”

So in a state where there are no laws or regulations on pesticides used on marijuana, they found pesticides were used on marijuana. SHOCKING! (that was sarcastic)

“States like Massachusetts ban use of non-organic pesticides on pot altogether. Other states, like Nevada, Oregon, and Washington have strict limits on how much pesticide residue is allowed on marijuana that’s sold. Those states require testing pot products before they go on sale. But California does not.”

Now if you can show us there are pesticides in legal marijuana that exceed the limits set in MA, NV, OR, WA, now we’re talking. But to claim CA pot is so bad because the growers put pesticides on weed because they only care about money without acknowledging there are no laws which limit the use of pesticides in CA in the first place is misleading at best and intentionally misrepresenting at worst.

Always good for a Clown Comment, aren’t you Rosenblatt.

Try to follow the bouncing ball: illegally grown weed is being grown by people who don’t follow the law. And you think more REGULATIONS are going to cause ILLEGAL growers to change their minds and stop using pesticides?

God, you are good for laughs. (P.S. Nice try being disingenuous. I previously posted the link to the NY Times article stating that over 80% of the pot grown in California is illegal. And you could always just google: how much marijuana in California is grown illegally?) Try it1

Rosenblatt: “CA doesn’t have any regulations on pesticide use on marijuana so it’s not surprising that any marijuana from CA tested positive for pesticides. Is there a problem with pesticide use on marijuana in states that have enacted marijuana/pesticide laws?”

Craig: ad homenim attack + a response to something else … completely ignores the pesticide argument entirely

Was just about to chastise Craig for repeated fear-mongering on any article mentioning Cannabis, glad to see someone burned him already. It’s preposterous the attempts he makes to spread misinformation.

As to the article itself, I hope California takes a note from Washington and attempts this in a few years, it’s crucial that these sort of regulations be re-evaluated regularly.

You would think after a while people would be honest and admit the dozens of links backing up my claims – links to reputable sources like the NY Times, CNN, scientific studies, etc. – would actually, you know, force them to consider the downsides of pot.

          But nope!
They can always just call me names and pretend that NONE OF IT IS TRUE! All made up. By CNN and the NY Times!

This is laughable. You’ve posted links to studies stating that marijuana MAY cause something, or that it causes something but no worse than coffee or alcohol cause the same thing. You’re fear-mongering and everyone sees through it. But I bet you’re just going to call someone a clown or insult or deflect, right?

Stoners ask for support for claims that stoning is harmful. When they are given such support via credible, ethical studies, stoners sidestep the issue and claim the studies ‘don’t count’.

Stoning will do that to you.

LOL and dinosaurs don’t actually read the articles they claim are providing credible, ethical studies. You literally haven’t read any of the many links that Craig himself has actually posted, since on the other Marijuana thread he was linking articles that were refuting his own claims and mis-quoting them to try and make it look like they were doing the opposite. This is called a lie, Polar. Your side of dying conservatives is very, very familiar with the concept.

Pesticides and heavy metals – sounds like it mirrors our food supply. I’m sure we’ll see a growing demand for organic MJ as this continues to be decriminalized and inevitably, legalized. Or, more people will just grow their own so they know exactly what’s in what they are ingesting.
