He leads the strategy and execution of the company’s Business Insurance Telematics program and oversees the delivery of advanced data and analytics used to generate actionable risk insights for customers. David also spearheads the development of AI enabled tools that enhance the capabilities of the Risk Engineering field organization. With more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership, David brings deep expertise in data-driven innovation, IoT solutions, and large scale technology delivery. His work focuses on transforming how risk information is collected, analyzed, and applied to help organizations improve safety, resilience, and operational performance.

Gary Johnson
Head of Safety and Compliance Strategy at Motive
Gary Johnson is Head of Safety and Compliance at Motive, the AI platform for physical operations, where he leads enterprise risk management initiatives and develops innovative risk solutions that advance safety across industries including transportation and logistics, construction, field services, manufacturing, and more. He brings nearly four decades of fleet safety and regulatory compliance experience, including nine years at Lytx and senior leadership roles at Anderson Trucking Service, Transport Corporation of America, and FedEx Express. Gary is a Certified Director of Safety (CDS), awarded by the North American Transportation Management Institute, and holds numerous accreditations in Occupational Safety and Health.

Trent Zempel
Senior Director of Corporate Safety at TAKKION
Trent Zempel, CDS, Senior Director of Corporate Safety at TAKKION, is a safety leader with a foundation in mechanical engineering and secondary education. With a career spanning construction, renewable energy, manufacturing, heavy-haul transportation, and crane operations, Trent is known for driving cultural change and building resilient safety systems across high-risk industries. A former two-sport collegiate athlete, he brings the same focus and discipline to his leadership style, emphasizing teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational learning. Trent holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Secondary Education, blending technical insight with a passion for teaching and developing others.
