2019 State of U.S. High Tide Flooding with a 2020 Outlook

Overview

In this report, the NOAA provides data illustrating the rapid growth in coastal flood risk now occurring within many U.S. coastal communities. Flooding, once a consequence of severe storms, can now occur during a full-moon tide or with a change in prevailing winds or currents. Such high tide flooding (HTF) is becoming common and is of growing concern within U.S. coastal communities.
