Recruit Better Producers with One Tactic – Technology

No matter what role you have at your agency, you should understand and appreciate the value of effective producers. A producer is an agency’s lifeline when it comes to sales. And an effective one can generate thousands of dollars in premiums per month. So, how can an agency recruit the top talent in their area?

We can boil it down into one tactic – technology. Producers want to work in an environment where sales is valued. In a service-centric industry, it’s not always an easy environment to find. That’s not to say we want to down play the importance of service. The very nature of insurance requires an emphasis on service. After all, you are the caretakers of your clients’ financial wellbeing. But sales and service don’t have to be totally separated either. One relies on the other. They are allies.

However, without sales, would there be any service? That’s debatable.

That’s why you need top producers. A good one focuses on both aspects of the job.

How Can Technology Attract Top Producers?

That’s the real point of this article, anyway. How can you attract these people? And how can you attract not just any producer, but a producer that’s absolutely stellar at what he or she does?

Let’s talk technology.

Sure, you have an agency management system to house all the contact info, account info, policy info, and claims info for your clients. It’s an absolute necessity in this industry.

Do you have a system that can help your producers do their job more effectively?

There are systems out there that not only house some contact and policy info for clients, but also house that information for INCOMING PROSPECTS. Some of them even have functionality that allows leads to automatically be assigned to producers based on rules set by the administrator.

This can decrease the time it takes a producer to receive a lead and act, which makes his or her job easier and more productive. Some systems allow the producer to choose if he or she would like to have the leads texted to his or her phone for the ultimate time savings and productivity.

And I shouldn’t have to tell you… when it comes to closing leads, time is money. The faster you get in touch with a lead, the more likely you are to close the sale.

Imagine if, at the click of a button, your producers could call the prospect right away. That’s one attractive benefit that other agencies in your area most likely won’t be able to offer. Some systems even record all prospect/producer phone calls, which allow the producer and agency principal or HR director the ability to monitor calls, provide advice, or share best practices.

That could definitely set you apart from competitors when it comes to top producer recruiting!
