EPIC

California-based EPIC (Edgewood Partners Insurance Center), a retail property, casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage, was recognized as a “Best Place to Work in the Bay Area” for the fourth consecutive year by a regional business journal.

The confidential survey was administered online by Quantum Workplace and included questions that gauged how happy employees are with their work culture, management practices, benefits and overall compensation. This year, employees at 301 companies operating in 12 counties around the Bay Area were surveyed. Of this total, 125 companies received “Best Places to Work” recognition.

EPIC is a California-based retail property/casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage firm. EPIC has nearly 300 team members operating from eight offices across California (Los Angeles, Orange, Irvine, Folsom, San Francisco, San Mateo, Petaluma and San Ramon, and in Baltimore, Md.

Custom Choice Insurance Services The Iroquois Group

Custom Choice Insurance Services of Idyllwild, Calif., joined The Iroquois Group, according to agency principal Caleb Kirk.

The agency recently opened an office at 54585 N. Circle Drive Ste. A, in Idyllwild.

Iroquois, a network of property and casualty insurance agencies in the country, now lists more than 1,800 member agencies in 37 states.

Strategic Insurance Agency

Hampton, N.H.-based The Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA) announced 21 new member agencies. Eighteen are liberated “captive agents” new to the independent agency system. New members from the Western region include:

  • Dow Capital Inc. of El Monte, Calif.;
  • Artisan Financial and Insurance Services of South El Monte, Calif;
  • ASI Agency LLC of Provo, Utah;
  • Vasquez Insurance Agency of San Jose, Calif.;
  • Tedmus Insurance Associates of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and
  • G&G Insurance Group of West Jordan, Utah.

Since it’s inception in 1995, SIAA has signed more than 3,700 new members.

Apex Insurance, Global Intermediaries

Apex Insurance Agency Inc., a subsidiary of Brown & Brown Inc., acquired substantially all of the assets of Global Intermediaries of Eugene LLC, d/b/a Global Intermediaries in Eugene, Ore.

With annualized revenues of approximately $1.3 million, Global Intermediaries is a wholesale operation that provides excess liability, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, police professional, and other specialty insurance lines to self-insured public entities. Judd Feldman, president of Global Intermediaries, and his team of insurance professionals will continue to serve their clients and customers from their existing Eugene location, under the Apex Insurance Services name.

Integro, Argo Insurance

Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro acquired Argo Insurance Brokers, a San Francisco Bay Area broker offering commercial, private client services, employee benefits and specialty insurance programs. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Argo will continue to operate under the leadership of current company President Jerry Katopodis and Head of Operations Linda Giffin. And the company will maintain its current California locations in Pleasant Hill and Anaheim.
