Confie Seguros, based in Huntington Beach, Calif., has acquired three new insurance brokerages in Buffalo, N.Y. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Confie acquired three agencies all providing auto insurance – Able Insurance Agency; Linda’s Able Insurance; and Becker-Able Agency Inc. The three former owners will continue with Confie as part of the company’s focus to maintain consistency of management, Confie said.
NFP, Hackett Valine & MacDonald
NFP, based in New York City, announced its acquisition of Hackett Valine & MacDonald Inc. (HVM), an independent insurance agency in South Burlington, Vt. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
HVM offers personal and commercial insurance services and employee benefits capabilities for companies in a range of industries.
HVM’s leadership team will remain in place, with Michael Walsh transitioning to managing director for NFP’s New England region, reporting to Terrence Scali, CEO, NFP Property & Casualty. Timothy Ford will continue as director of sales, focused on employee benefits, and Richard Bazluke will serve as finance director.
Cross Insurance, Schonning Insurance
Cross Insurance, an independent insurance agency based in Bangor, Maine, has acquired Schonning Insurance, an independent agency in Westerly, R.I. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Currently owned by President Stephen Schonning, the family-owned agency was established in 1987. Schonning Insurance and the firm’s six employees, including President Stephen Schonning, will continue to operate as Schonning Insurance, and ultimately transition and operate under the Cross Insurance brand.
AssuredPartners, JRO
AssuredPartners Inc. has acquired Jones, Raphael & Oulundsen Inc. (JRO), an independent insurance agency based in New Britain, Conn. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
JRO will continue to operate under the local leadership of Vice President Richard Oulundsen and Vice President Garret Ratcliffe.
ANE, Liberty Insurance Associates
ANE (Agency Network Exchange LLC), a network of independently owned and operated insurance agencies, announced that Liberty Insurance Associates Inc., an independent agency based in Millstone Township, N.J., has become an equity partner and a part owner of ANE.
Missouri General, Richmond, Keystone Insurers Group
St. Louis, Mo.-based agency Missouri General Insurance Agency has become a franchise partner in Keystone Insurers Group, headquartered in Northumberland, Pa. Missouri General offers business and personal insurance, and benefits and financial services.
Keystone also announced an expansion in Kentucky with the addition of a new franchise partner in Maysville. Richmond Insurance Agency of Kentucky is the 25th independent insurance agency in the state to join Keystone. Richmond Insurance Agency will continue to be led by President Eric Schumacher.
Located on the Ohio River in Mason County, Richmond Insurance Agency of Kentucky was established in 1995.
Integro, Energy Insurance Brokers
Integro Ltd., based in New York City, announced an addition to its Trade & Logistics practice with the acquisition of Energy Insurance Brokers (EIB) in East Greenbush, N.Y. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Established in 1989, EIB specializes in trucking and energy risks. EIB founder Michael Reilly and his staff will join Integro’s Trade & Logistics practice.
Risk Strategies, Northwest Comprehensive
Boston-based Risk Strategies Co. has acquired Northwest Comprehensive Inc., a full service employee benefits insurance brokerage and consulting firm headquartered in Chicago.
John Cerasani, Northwest Comprehensive president and founder, will continue to manage Northwest Comprehensive. In addition, he will also assume the role of the Risk Strategies Midwest Employee Benefits practice leader.
USI, BBVA Compass
USI Insurance Services has acquired the personal risk services business of BBVA Compass Insurance Agency Inc.
The accounts, homeowners, automobile, umbrella and other recreational policies, will be combined into the USI Phoenix, Ariz. operations.
EPIC, Sorci Insurance
Edgewood Partners Insurance Center has acquired Sorci Insurance Brokerage Inc., a specialist in providing comprehensive workers’ compensation insurance services to new car auto dealers in California.
Sorci Insurance Brokerage is based in Los Gatos, Calif.
