Texas-Based MHBT Recognized as Top Performing U.S. Insurance Brokerage

February 10, 2014

MHBT Inc., headquartered in Dallas, Texas, was recently recognized as the “Top Performing Agency” in the country in its revenue category in a report by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) and Reagan Consulting, an Atlanta-based management consulting firm.

MHBT was the top performer in a category of firms with more than $25 million in annual revenue, which includes the country’s largest brokerage firms. Among a total of six national revenue category winners, MHBT was the only Dallas agency in the group.

Nearly 1,200 independent agencies and brokers of varying sizes were nominated to take part in the study. Only 216 agencies qualified for selection.

MHBT was singled out for having achieved the highest overall scores on indicators of operational excellence including client retention, growth, profitability, productivity and financial stability.

In addition to being recognized as the top performer in its category, MHBT has been awarded the elite Best Practices Agency designation by the IIABA. MHBT has maintained this designation since 2004, and prides itself on being an industry leader.

The Best Practices Study was initiated by IIABA in 1993. The annual survey and study of leading independent insurance agencies documents the business practices of the “best” agencies, and urges others to adopt similar practices.

In addition to Dallas, MHBT has offices in Fort Worth, Austin, Lubbock and Midland. The firm offers commercial insurance, risk management services, employee benefits, sureties, personal insurance and specialized services.
