Surgeons Liability Insurance
Nuts & Bolts: Avreco is offering bariatrics and general surgery physicians professional liability coverage. Eligible risks must be certified by the American Board of Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, and also a member of either the American Society of bariatrics Surgeons (ASBS) or the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). Claims-made/incident-sensitive policy form is available. One option is bariatrics-only coverage for surgeons who want to continue their general surgery coverage with their existing carrier. Prior acts coverage is available, subject to underwriting evaluation.

Dollars: Limits offered are up to $1 million per claim/$3 million per aggregate in most states with a mandatory $25,000 deductible.

Builder’s Risk Policies
Nuts & Bolts: Britt Paulk Insurance Agency Inc. is offering a full line of builder’s risk coverage for transit, temporary storage, debris removal, fire department services, pollution clean up, trees, shrubs and plants, earth movement, flood, soft costs, loss of rental income and permission to occupy.

Dollars: Minimum premium is $300 residential; $500 commercial deductible: $500 residential; and $1,000 commercial.

Special features include sexual abuse/molestation sub limit options of $250,000/$500,000, defense in addition to the limits up to the full limit, and new, lower premiums for surgery centers, MRI facilities and dialysis centers.

Nuts & Bolts: Abram Interstate Insurance Services Inc. in Rocklin, Calif., is offering a new program for garage insurance. The targeted classes are: new and used car dealers, private passenger auto repair shops, RV dealers and repair, motorcycle dealers and repair, gas stations with auto repair and convenience store, auto body and paint shops, auto stereo and alarm installers, full service car washers, auto detailers, new tire dealers, trailer dealers, wholesaler auto dealers and brokers, valet parking, heavy truck dealers and repair, impound yards and public livery repair.

Dollars: Garage liability coverage limits up to $1 million/$2 million are available. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage limit is up to $1 million. Garage keepers coverage limit up to $1 million per lot/$150,000 per vehicle. Direct express and direct primary coverage options available. Excess liability available up to $5 million. Scheduled auto liability is available.
