Bruce Carnegie-Brown will become the chairman of Lloyd’s following a meeting of the Council of Lloyd’s where his appointment as successor to John Nelson was approved unanimously. His appointment also was unanimously supported by the Lloyd’s Franchise Board.

Carnegie-Brown, chairman of Moneysupermarket.com Group and vice-chairman of Banco Santander S.A., will take up the position in June of this year.

Carnegie-Brown has over 35 years of experience across the financial services industry. He was chief executive for Marsh Europe between 2003 and 2006, non-executive chairman of Aon UK Ltd. from 2012 to 2015 and was also a senior independent non-executive director at the Catlin Group plc between 2010 and 2014. He will be stepping down from his current role as a non-executive director of JLT Group plc, a position he has held since May 2016.

He has been chairman of Moneysupermarket Group since his appointment in April 2014 and a vice-chairman of Banco Santander since February 2015. He previously worked at JP Morgan for 18 years across a number of senior roles, ran 3i Group plc’s Quoted Private Equity Division from 2007 and was a senior independent director at Close Brothers Group plc.

Willis Towers Watson has appointed Fred Zutel as head of Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) in South Florida. The company also made four other hires in the South Florida market.

Zutel worked with Willis Towers Watson in the construction and real estate sectors in the South Florida region. While remaining focused on large and complex accounts, Zutel is also now responsible for new business development, talent acquisition and strategic leadership for the company’s South Florida CRB segment.

Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Zutel served as a vice president with Marsh and McLennan in Sunrise, Fla.

In addition, Steve Anderson has been appointed to serve as an account executive for construction and real estate development clients. Anderson brings 25 years of industry experience.

Ryan Heimbold, formerly of Brown & Brown Insurance, joins the production team with an additional 12 years of real estate and construction expertise.

Lisset Benitez will focus on new business production and also joins from Brown & Brown Insurance.

And Dorty Stunson has joined the Risk Control and Claim Advocacy Group. Previously with Engle Martin & Associates, Stunson has over 20 years of industry experience handling complex claim issues.

The North Carolina Department of Insurance has appointed Brian Taylor as Assistant Fire Marshal for the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal, according to an announcement from Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey.

Taylor has been Fire Marshal for the City of Albemarle, N.C., since 2000 and has been a firefighter for the city since 1992.

As Fire Marshal for Albemarle, Taylor has overseen permits and building inspections, fire inspections and enforcement, emergency management, fire and arson investigations, and public fire and life safety education, including the coordination of Safe Kids Stanly County.

Alliant has tapped Georgia-based Wade Beacham, vice president within the company’s Alliant Americas division, to facilitate Alliant’s continued regional expansion.

In addition to his experience with transactional risks, Beacham has more than 16 years of experience originating and managing client relationships across a range of other industries, including manufacturing, energy, technology, real estate, aviation services and public entities.

Prior to joining Alliant, Beacham was vice president with a global insurance brokerage firm. He also has experience with oil and gas risks, serving clients in the energy sector for more than seven years. He can be reached in the Alpharetta, Ga., office of Alliant.

Brentwood Services Administrators (BSA), headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn., has promoted Lisa Whitten to claims supervisor in the Brentwood office, according to Jeff Pettus, president and chief executive officer of BSA.

Whitten is responsible for providing guidance and supervision for claims adjusters and support

personnel. She assists in maintaining client satisfaction and resolving issues while reporting to Mark Sparks, senior vice president, claims.

Whitten joined BSA in May 2012 as a senior claim representative.

Whitten has over 30 years of multi-state experience in the workers’ compensation claims industry, as well as 25 years of management experience. Prior to her employment with BSA, she was a first response coordinator for Future Care.
