Pilgrim Insurance, a unit of The Plymouth Rock Group of Companies, in Boston, has been accepted by the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration to participate in the Write Your Own Flood Program (WYO). This program enables Pilgrim to issue flood protection policies, adjust claims and manage payments.
Pilgrim will offer the coverage in Masscahusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
“We will provide our customers with state of the art online processing systems and the educational tools required to communicate the critical need to protect property against flood damage,” said Ellen Wilcox, president of Pilgrim Insurance Company. “Unfortunately, many homeowners find out too late that their homeowner policies do not cover flood damage. Based on the recent storm damage in many parts of the country, homeowners need to know they can protect property in both high risk flood zones as well as areas not usually flood prone — and do it affordably.”
Pilgrim provides business process outsourcing services for property and casualty carriers.
